I'm going to attempt a review and recommend site for whatever I'm reading, adding the caapability to order the book directly from amazon.com through this site. At this point, I'm mainly experimenting with what I can do with some of these capabilities on line, so we'll start with my book about the band and see what it all works like...

"Musical Service" is an outstanding book. I lived in Franklin for 6 years and was briefly a member of the band. The history of the band is interesting enough; but this book also includes numerous references to local and national historical events and how the context of those events affected the band and Franklin.
Anyone who is from Franklin or cares about Franklin will not be able to put down this book. But it is also for anyone who wants to gain an insight into the culture of small-town America and its institutions.
